Myth of “standardised bike position”
Due to their individual anatomy, cyclists cannot be pressed into a generally valid pattern. Therefore, finding the optimal cycling position is a science in itself, even for ambitious competitive athletes, and can hardly be achieved without professional support.
The challenge is to find the best possible balance between physical performance, aerodynamics and comfort. This is because previous injuries, muscular imbalances and functional limitations are added to the individual anatomical conditions.
The aim is to bring these factors together to develop his/her personal performance potential, improve aerodynamics and reduce any pain (e.g. cervical spine or knee area).
